A Future of Meat Without Animals is not only about animals raised for food; it is about climate, environment and wildlife as well. Artist Adam Wolpa will be presenting a visual engagement with numerous contemporary artists on "Seeing Meat Without Animals: Attitudes for the Future." In addition to providing our conference image atop this page, Adam will also be displaying artifacts from his own show "Putting i It All Together." www.adamwolpa.com Christopher Carter will be presenting "Soul and Salsa: Moving Beyond (Animal) Meat" examining the potential obstacles that producers of vegan “meat” may face when trying to expand into the black and brown consumer markets, both in terms of marketing strategies and urban access. From Chris, "Ultimately I argue that in order for purveyors of vegan 'meat' to have long-term economic success in black and brown communities they must understand and address the identity politics that are embedded within the food culture of these communities."
