THE FUTURE OF MEAT WITHOUT ANIMALS (FMA)
Following recent financial and cultural endorsements of meatless meat companies by major public figures, The Future of Meat Without Animals is a forthcoming book exploring the history of animal-free meat and dairy products, as well as economic, agricultural, religious, cultural, and gender issues surrounding a future of meatless meat. Derived from a gathering of many of the authors, the articles assess opportunities and obstacles in moving global meat consumption to scalable, affordable, accessible, plant-based meat for the global population. Is this a feasible aim? Is it a meaningful intervention in the global food system? And what cross-disciplinary, transnational, and theoretical partnerships will be needed to to make such a goal come to fruition?
